A Forehead Lift and BOTOX Solve Separate Problems
A forehead lift repositions a descended brow and adjusts deeper tissues in the upper face. The procedure can create a more open appearance around the eyes, improve brow placement, and soften certain forehead creases.
BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments temporarily reduce activity in selected facial muscles. This can smooth lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows, squint, or frown. BOTOX Cosmetic cannot reposition sagging tissue, while surgery is not intended to prevent every expression-related line.
For this reason, a forehead lift may reduce your reliance on injections without replacing them completely.
Why You May Still Consider BOTOX After Surgery
Whether injections remain useful depends on your anatomy, facial expressions, surgical plan, and preferences. During an evaluation, we may consider:
- How your forehead moves: Lines that appear mainly when you make an expression may still respond well to BOTOX Cosmetic.
- Which tissues were adjusted: Your surgical plan influences your final brow placement and forehead contour.
- Whether creases remain at rest: Long-standing lines may soften without disappearing completely.
- How much movement you prefer: Some patients are comfortable with natural expression and faint lines. Others prefer more smoothing.
Your treatment pattern after surgery may involve fewer injection sites, a revised dose, or longer intervals between visits. There is no single routine that works for every forehead lift patient.
When Can You Reconsider Injections?
It is best to wait until swelling has improved and the brow has settled before deciding whether BOTOX Cosmetic would add to your result. Early tightness and temporary changes in facial movement can make the forehead difficult to assess accurately.
During follow-up care, we can examine your brow at rest and while you make different expressions. This helps determine whether a remaining concern comes from muscle activity, brow descent, or excess upper-eyelid skin. When eyelid skin is the primary issue, eyelid surgery may be more appropriate than additional injections.

Find the Right Plan for Your Forehead and Brow
A forehead lift corrects structural changes, while BOTOX Cosmetic can continue to soften lines created by facial movement. Instead of automatically returning to your previous injection routine, allow the area to heal and reassess what would genuinely improve your result.
